Bookkisa is produced by Sookoo Coffee in the hills of Shakiso, Guji, Ethiopia. Coffee is grown at elevations between 2,000–2,150 meters and delivered to the Sawana drying station by approximately 30 smallholder farmers from the surrounding community.

Sawana Station was established in 2022, allowing coffee from Bookkisa to be processed separately from neighboring communities. Farms in the area are generally small and coffee grows in fully or semi-forested systems alongside other crops. All cherries delivered to the station are organically produced.

This lot is naturally processed, allowing the coffee cherries to dry whole and emphasizing the sweetness and fruit character of these high-elevation Ethiopian varieties.
